Exceptional Interior Painting in Bedford, NH
Serving all New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Interior Painting:
- Ensure all floors, countertops, appliances, and furniture are covered before painting.
- Use 1” blue tape to protect glass, ensuring easy removal even after prolonged exposure to sunlight, and to
achieve clean, sharp edges after painting, if needed.
- Move and cover furniture, then replace it after painting.
- Remove outlet covers and switch plates, cover with tape, and replace after painting.
- Tape all trim edges before painting walls.
- Conduct all necessary wall and trim repairs as agreed upon.
- Identify and repair all cracks, water damage, and defects, and perform any re-texturing required.
- Prime all bare wood, wall or wood repairs, and any other necessary areas with suitable primers before
painting.
- Sand, clean, prime, and paint all specified enamel surfaces, ensuring good adhesion between coats.
- Check for cracks in woodwork, doors, windows, wall corners, etc., and caulk with premium caulk.
- Ceilings are best painted with flat paint in the chosen color to minimize light reflection or sheen, which can highlight drywall imperfections. However, high moisture areas like bathrooms may benefit from glossy paint on the ceiling.
- Walls should be painted with top-quality interior wall paint in the specified color and sheen. Various types
of wall paints are available in a wide price range.
- Finish coat all enamel surfaces (usually trim or doors) with top-quality interior enamel paint, either oil or water-based depending on preferences and circumstances.
- Typically, two finish coats of paint are applied on drywall or enamel work after preparation, whether using
a roller or sprayer. However, the application methods and times between coats may vary.
- After completing all work, clean up by removing all tape, replacing hardware and outlet covers, putting
furniture back in place, cleaning interior glass, and removing unnecessary paint cans. Ensure all paint cans are accurately labeled, leaving touch-up paint for all areas and colors.
